The Charles Vineyard Semillon is crafted from 100% estate Semillon fruit. Aged in a combination of new and used French oak barrels, plus some stainless steel barrels, it is toasty and creamy, but with citrus notes and a freshness added by the cold-climate fruit.
Semillon is rare in Anderson Valley, with less than three acres planted in the entire appellation. We farm 0.3 acres on our estate, and produce the only Semillon varietal wine in the Valley. This release is crafted with wild yeast and wild ML strains, and is bottled unfined and unfiltered. The only ingredient we use is sulfur, for aging potential, and this wine is suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets.
