Our longest-lived Pinot, the 2009 Charles Vineyard is ideal for cellaring and will drink beautifully for many years to come.
This wine is a blend of all four clones grown on our estate vineyard: our house style Pinot Noir, so to speak. We fermented this wine with wild yeast and wild ML strains, with 30% whole clusters. No racking was done while the wine was aged in 15% new French oak barrels.
The 2009 vintage was cool, with flavors arriving before physiological ripness. We picked early, crafting three Pinot Noirs under 14% alcohol. This wine showcases our estate fruit and a touch of new oak, alongside our appellation's signature acidity and brightness.
